Position Overview
As the Leading Hand – Civil Maintenance, you’ll support the Team Leader in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance works. You’ll lead by example, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and Council policies, while fostering a positive and productive team culture.
This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help shape the development of your team. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of infrastructure across the Shire.
Candidate Profile
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced individual with a strong background in civil maintenance and team leadership.
Essential:
- Certificate II in Civil Construction (or equivalent).
- Relevant licences including a valid Class C Driver’s Licence and WHS Induction Card (Whitecard).
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing workloads for yourself and others.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using mobile technology and IT applications to support daily operations.
Desirable:
- Experience in using survey instruments.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Exposure to innovative maintenance practices or improvement initiatives.

- Package: From $71,819 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent full-time 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight
