Your Impact as a Tree Management Officer

The Tree Management Officer (Proactive Inspections) is responsible for the proactive management and enhancement of Council’s urban and open space tree assets. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that tree assessments and management services are executed efficiently and effectively. The role will actively manage risks associated with trees through proactive inspection, ongoing data input, conducting audits and maintaining the tree register via the Council’s Asset Management System. 

Your expertise in arboriculture will guide your decision-making to maximise the environmental, social and economic benefits provided by public trees. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of customer service and fulfil other duties as directed by your Coordinator or Manager.

About you

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual who is passionate about tree management and environmental sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • AQF Level 5 Diploma in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or nearing completion. 
  • Class C Drivers Licence and NSW WHS White Card.
  • Proven experience in tree assessment and management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use technology and systems for record-keeping and reporting.

  • Package: From $93,854 - $102,302 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Salary will be determined based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
  • Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week with option of 19 day month flex time arrangement.
