Your Role
As a Building Regulations Officer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering customer-focused planning, building, and compliance services. You’ll provide expert technical guidance on building regulations and planning policies, ensuring high-quality assessments and determinations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing Building Information Certificates
- Providing technical building and planning advice
- Addressing Swimming Pool Safety matters
- Preparing detailed assessment reports and documentation
- Engaging with stakeholders to promote compliance and safety
- Supporting continuous improvement in service delivery
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in building regulations and a passion for community service. You’ll be confident working independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in environmental planning, building surveying, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field
- General Construction Induction Card (NSW)
- Class C Driver’s Licence
- Proven experience in certification/building surveying and assessing Development Applications or Complying Development Certificates
Desirable:
- Strong understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant planning legislation
- Ability to adapt to mobile inspection technologies
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week, you will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
