Visitor Services Assistant

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a motivated, professional Visitor Services Assistant to provide high-quality customer service, support events and exhibitions, and assist with day-to-day venue operations at Hazelhurst Arts Centre. Duties include:

  • Welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries in person, by phone and email
  • Processing course enrolments, event bookings, merchandise and artwork sales
  • Assisting with special events and exhibition openings
  • Supporting volunteers working at the Gallery Desk and retail shop
  • Invigilating exhibitions and helping maintain a safe, welcoming venue
  • Completing administration tasks, database updates and daily financial reconciliation

You will bring:

  • Experience in customer service within hospitality, arts, performance or similar settings
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work as part of a supportive team
  • Confidence using booking systems and general software applications
  • Studies underway or completed in Arts or Business

  • Package: $61,515 - $65,203 gross p.a. (full time equivalent) plus 12% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Part Time working 14 hours per week. Position is expected to be available up to 12 months.
