Your role as a Rear Loader Driver

As a Rear Loader Driver, you’ll play a key role in the collection of public waste across the Sutherland Shire on a Monday to Friday shift. You’ll work a 9‑day fortnight, starting from 4:00 am, as part of a reliable team delivering cost‑effective services aligned with our Waste Management Strategy.

Your responsibilities include driving and operating rear loader vehicles, completing safety checks, offsider duties and carrying out minor maintenance. This role has a strong focus on safety, compliance, and providing excellent customer service to help maintain a clean and thriving environment.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • A current HR Class driver licence (essential)
  • Experience in waste services or a similar driving/operations role
  • Physical fitness to manage manual handling and outdoor work
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Basic data entry and mobile device skills
  • Knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Law
  • Familiarity with Sutherland Shire streets and suburbs (advantageous)

  • Package: $74,901 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. 
  • Hours of work: Permanent Full-time 38 hours per week 9-day fortnight
