Position Overview
The Irrigation Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the health and usability of sports turf across council-managed fields and precincts. You will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and strategic development of irrigation systems to achieve efficient water use and optimal turf conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular audits of irrigation systems
- Diagnosing and repairing faults promptly
- Collaborating with Sports Turf Managers to align irrigation with turf care plans
- Installing new components and integrating smart technologies to improve efficiency
What You Bring to the Team
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail are essential.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Trade Certificate and Contractor Licence in irrigation or plumbing
- Demonstrated experience in irrigation system maintenance and installation, preferably in sports turf or open space environments
- Familiarity with automated and smart irrigation systems
- Competency in using irrigation software and digital controllers
Desirable qualifications:
- Trade qualifications in turf management
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certificate
- Backflow prevention certification
- Experience using a water jetter
- Asbestos awareness training

- Package: From $85,077 - $92,510 + 12% superannuation
- Hours of work: Permanent Full-time 38 hours per week 9-day fortnight.
