About The Role
The Financial Planning and Reporting Manager plays a crucial role in providing strategic financial leadership and stewardship to ensure the Council's long-term financial sustainability. The role is responsible for overseeing financial accounting, taxation obligations, investment and treasury function, finance business partnering, and long‑term financial planning.
As a key member of the Finance leadership team, you will lead two teams of professional accountants, drive high standards of performance and governance, manage financial systems, and support the Chief Financial Officer in delivering strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a strong background in financial and budget management, asset management, long‑term financial planning, accounting standards, and local government legislation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership capability, with the ability to mentor and develop teams while fostering strong, collaborative relationships across the organisation
- Current full membership of either CPA or CAANZ.
- Graduate qualification in accounting, business administration, management, or a relevant field.
- Extensive experience with financial accounting and management accounting practises.
- Strong IT literacy and financial system development capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams and fostering strategic relationships.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of making informed decisions, analysing complex issues, and communicating effectively with diverse audiences. Experience in a senior local government finance environment is desirable but not essential.
