About The Role
As a Public Domain Planner, you will provide strategic leadership in the planning, design, and delivery of the public domain. Your role will involve ensuring sustainable and resilient outcomes across urban design, transport, and environmental initiatives while supporting Council’s objectives. You will collaborate with a talented multidisciplinary team to drive initiatives that enhance the public realm.
This position will involve leading the development and implementation of public domain strategies, providing input into various planning instruments, and engaging with stakeholders to deliver high-quality design outcomes.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a qualified professional with a strong background in urban planning and design. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A degree or relevant qualifications in Planning, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field.
- A current Driver’s Licence.
- Experience in strategic public domain initiatives within local government or complex planning contexts.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to prepare detailed reports and policy recommendations.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the EP&A Act 1979 and Local Government Act.
Your strategic and analytical skills will be crucial in leading and mentoring teams to achieve best-practise outcomes in public domain projects. A postgraduate qualification and experience in computer-aided drafting and design would be highly regarded.

- Package: $88,129-$113,923 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
