As part of our ongoing efforts to balance urban development with environmental stewardship, we are seeking a Tree Management Officer to join our Environmental and Regulation Unit within the Planning Directorate.
About The Role
The Tree Management Officer will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the Shire's tree canopy while managing associated risks. This position involves providing a holistic and consistent approach to the assessment of tree and bushland-related applications, conducting inspections, and providing accurate technical advice to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards, representing the Council in legal matters, and educating the community about sustainable canopy management practises.
Who We're Looking For
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual who holds a Degree in Landscape Architecture (or nearing completion) or holds a Certificate IV in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or an equivalent qualification. You should have a Class C Driver's Licence and a NSW OH&S General Induction White Card.
- Demonstrated experience in tree assessment and management.
- Strong negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in using PC systems, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication and people skills to foster collaboration and constructive feedback.

- Package: $93,854-$96,671 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
