Seasonal Public Place Cleaner

6-Month Temporary Contract

The Seasonal Public Place Cleaner is responsible for maintaining Council's public spaces, town centres, parks and community facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation, helping to ensure our community remains clean, safe and welcoming.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for reliable and hardworking people with cleaning experience who take pride in their work and enjoy working independently as well as part of a team.

Essential

  • Current Class C Driver Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check.
  • Experience in cleaning, public place cleansing, labouring or a similar role.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Experience undertaking manual handling tasks and working safely.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • Experience working in busy public environments.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Seven-day roster including public holidays as required.
  • Applicable penalty rates for work outside ordinary hours.
  • Operational hours between 3:00am and 7:00pm.
  • Employment under Council's Core Enterprise Agreement.

  • Package: $63,976 - $67,812 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.

  • Hours of work: The role participates in a seven-day roster within business unit span of hours - 3am to 7pm.

Suitable candidates are subject to pre-employment screening which includes Reference Checks, Work Rights Verification, Identity and Functional/Medical History Checks, and will also include a Criminal History, Qualification and Working with Children Check. Employment is subject to clearance of all these checks.
