St Margaret’s offers a broad range of music opportunities for students. In addition to private singing lessons, St Margaret’s offers an extensive Choral program to students. The choirs perform at a wide variety of events including Open Day, MAYO Festival, Classics in the Cathedral, competitions, tours and community events. There are 7 choirs, 2 of which are auditioned. The choirs generally rehearse once a week and perform a wide variety of repertoire.

We are currently inviting applications for the role of:

Choral Conductor / Private Singing Teacher

We are ideally seeking a candidate who is both an outstanding Choral Conductor and Private Singing Teacher however we will consider candidates with skills in either area. 

It is essential that:

  • You enjoy working with students to bring out their best
  • You are experienced with a demonstrated success in choral conducting and / or private singing teaching
  • You will be highly passionate about promoting a lifelong love of music
  • Have the ability to quickly build rapport with students ensuring that students are comfortable in the learning environment. 

It is anticipated that there will be lessons across 3-4 days per week. Applications are being considered from candidates with either availability across 3-4 days per week or individuals wanting to share the load and work less days per week.

This role will commence in July 2024.
