Who are we?

 

 

Founded in 1989, Wintringham is a not-for-profit organisation providing aged care, housing and support services for people aged 50 and over, who have experienced or are vulnerable to homelessness. We currently employ over 950 staff across Hobart, Melbourne and regional Victoria.

 

We are very excited to announce the expansion of our services into Tasmania and are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to be a part of our new venture. The launch of our community services is the first phase of establishing specialised services for vulnerable older Tasmanians, focusing on secure, stable housing with close and accessible supports at the ready.

The opportunity

We are currently seeking an eager, enthusiastic and experienced Administration Assistant to join our new Wintringham – Southern Tasmania Office in Bellerive on a Part Time ongoing basis, 26.6 per week.  Your roster will be:

 

Week 1 & 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (5.5hours per day)

 

We are seeking a candidate with excellent written and verbal communication skills who have tactful and difficult conversations with people who may be experiencing distress or mental health issues.

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to Housing & Homelessness Support Coordinator– Regional & Tasmania, Case Managers and Housing staff
  • Develop, co-ordinate and maintain the administration functions and program records of the office.
  • Act as a central Receptionist to the office and answer all incoming calls, contacts and enquiries in a professional, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Manage the office petty cash and monitor clients’ trust money including counting, recording and signing in and out of money.
  • Enter data into Pay global (MYOB), Epicor, SHIP, and Samcare, as required.
  • Other administrative duties as directed by the Community Manager.

 

What we will require from you:

  • Excellent administration skills (previous experience in a similar role within aged care/health care is highly advantageous)
  • Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong IT skills and great knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • A caring and non-judgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds
