Marist College Ashgrove, located in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs, is a distinguished Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12. We are currently seeking a passionate, dynamic, and innovative Support Teacher Diverse Learners to join our team. This pivotal role demands expert knowledge and experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
We are seeking an energetic staff member to join a team of other Support Teacher Diverse Learners on our secondary campus as valued member of the Academic Equity Team at the College. The successful applicant will partner with teaching faculty to support students in years 7-12. They will prioritise strong community relationships, demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and provide guidance and co-ordination around the provision and implementation of high-quality inclusive strategies and intervention programs which cater for our rich and diverse learning community.
The purpose of the Support Teacher Diverse Learners is to act as a champion for an inclusive and supportive learning environment which is responsive to the holistic growth and development of every student.
This is a full-time, continuing position.
Selection Criteria:
The applicant will have:
- Expertise in identifying and supporting students with learning differences and learning support needs.
- Experience implementing literacy and numeracy intervention programmes to support educational outcomes for boys.
- Professional knowledge and skills around the application of assistive technologies to support diverse learners.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NCCD Framework and processes.
- Registration to teach in Queensland.
- Experience working in an EAL/D capacity or working with students from diverse backgrounds may be viewed favourably.
- Willingness to contribute to the College's extensive co-curricular program; and
- Commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College.
