About Us

VincentCare Community Housing (VCCH) is a registered Housing Provider managing over 300 properties, including transitional housing and long-term housing for people aged 55 and over. We work alongside VincentCare Victoria and other community organisations to support people in need. Currently, we are managing three "Big Housing Build" projects, delivering over 180 additional social housing homes by the end of 2025.

Our approach is rooted in empowerment, community development, and resident-led decision-making.

About the Role

As the Coordinator of Partnerships and Programs, you will lead the transformation of our Footscray Community Housing site into a thriving, inclusive community. You will recruit and support a volunteer team, build partnerships with local service providers, and work closely with residents to create meaningful programs, events, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Community Development:
    • Recruit, lead, and support a volunteer team.
    • Establish a residents’ committee and foster resident-led decision-making.
    • Develop and lead activities and events that activate and unite the Footscray community.
    • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering team culture.
  • Program Management & Partnerships:
    • Develop partnerships to enable resident skill-building, advocacy, and self-determination.
    • Facilitate mentoring, training, and leadership development programs.
    • Collaborate across VCCH teams to enhance opportunities for residents.
  • Operations & Compliance:
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and volunteer training plans.
    • Ensure compliance with VCCH values, policies, and legislative requirements, including Rainbow Tick Accreditation.
  • Financial Management:
    • Contribute to budget development and ensure expenditures align with approved budgets.
    • Assist with funding submissions and effective allocation of resources.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications:
    • Tertiary qualification in health, community services, or a related field (required).
  • Experience (Essential):
    • Leadership experience, preferably in a community development role.
    • Knowledge of community or social housing and homelessness services.
    • Understanding of community development principles.
  • Experience (Desired):
    • Leading volunteer teams.
    • Facilitating programs and initiatives that promote empowerment and skill-building.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Commitment to social justice and understanding of social determinants of health.
    • Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
    • Financial management and reporting expertise.
    • Analytical, pragmatic, and outcomes-focused problem-solving abilities.
