Little bit about the role
As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will:
- Provide risk management, safety planning and holistic case management to adults, children and family animals escaping family violence.
- Deliver trauma-informed and strength-based support, prioritizing victim-survivor safety and empowerment.
- Work within the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM), the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) and all other relevant frameworks and guidelines to manage risk and hold people using violence accountable.
- Advocate for victim survivors and collaborate with local and statewide services.
- Participate in phone-based, on-call roster which provides support to individuals already in service after-hours.
About you
- A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalent in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements. Please see https://www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualificationsspecialist-family-violence-practitioners for further information.
- Experience in case management within a family violence or community services setting.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and family violence frameworks.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the unique needs and issues of individuals from diverse backgrounds including First Nations People, people of colour and individuals who identify as LGBTIQA+.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A valid Victorian Driver Licence, Working with Children Check, and satisfactory police check.
