About Vincentcare Victoria

VincentCare Victoria is an award-winning organisation established to provide a range of accommodation and support services to people that are facing disadvantage throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.

Our aspiration is to be the leader in providing care, hope and advocacy for those facing disadvantage. Our purpose is to create opportunities and lasting change for the most marginalised. VincentCare is well equipped to provide a continuum of services that effectively meet the needs of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Little bit about the role

The Ozanam House Intake Worker plays a vital role within the Intake & IAP Team at the Inner Melbourne Community Hub, providing frontline support to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Working within the Homelessness Resource Centre (HRC) at Ozanam House, this position is responsible for conducting comprehensive initial assessments, managing the crisis accommodation waitlist, and determining the eligibility and suitability of referrals for Ozanam House services.

This role involves providing immediate and person-centred responses, which may include short-term accommodation referrals, service navigation, advocacy, and the use of the Housing Establishment Fund (HEF). The position requires collaborative work across internal teams and external services to ensure a coordinated and holistic support approach, in line with the VincentCare Recovery Model. Operating with minimal supervision, the Intake Worker also supports planning and coordination activities that improve outcomes for clients and the overall intake process.
