About Vincentcare Victoria

VincentCare Victoria is an award-winning organisation established to provide a range of accommodation and support services to people that are facing disadvantage throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.

Our aspiration is to be the leader in providing care, hope and advocacy for those facing disadvantage. Our purpose is to create opportunities and lasting change for the most marginalised. VincentCare is well equipped to provide a continuum of services that effectively meet the needs of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Little bit about the role

The Senior Worker – Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP) is a key leadership role within VincentCare’s Northern Community Hub. Reporting to the Program Manager, this position is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations, practice supervision, and service delivery of the PRAP team.

The PRAP program provides holistic, flexible, and practical support to individuals and families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, helping them to either access or sustain safe and affordable private rental housing. This includes oversight of the PRAP brokerage program, private rental assistance, and the PRAP Plus support component.

The Senior Worker plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, client-centred service delivery that aligns with trauma-informed and evidence-based practice. This position provides supervision, reflective practice, and operational support to staff, ensuring compliance with funding, reporting, and legislative requirements.

The role also contributes to VincentCare’s broader leadership team, supporting continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and the achievement of sustainable housing outcomes that reduce homelessness and housing insecurity across the Hume and Merri-bek regions.

  • Proven experience in homelessness, housing, or related community services sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience providing supervision, mentoring, or leadership to staff in achieving positive client outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of issues impacting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including financial stress, family violence, and mental health.
  • Experience applying trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centred practice frameworks.
  • Knowledge of housing systems, the Residential Tenancies Act, and the broader service network.
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, crisis-driven environment.

  • Strong leadership and team development skills with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High level of resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan, evaluate, and implement continuous service improvements.
  • Competence in financial management, brokerage allocation, and data integrity oversight.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and culturally safe practices, including for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQ+ communities, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
