Little bit about the role
This position leads the day-to-day operations and service provision of J2SI program at VincentCare’s Northern Community Hub under the direction of the Hub and Program Manager and is a key member of VincentCare’s leadership team. The role supports a multidisciplinary team of 4 intensive case managers, 1 VACSAL intensive case, 1 Peer Worker and 1 Community Participation Worker who work with a cohort of 30 J2SI clients. The team operates from a proactive outreach model in the community across Melbourne’s North and West metro areas.
Reporting to the Program Manager, this position plays a critical role in designing and delivering, implementing, and leading the J2SI program as part of the J2SI program consortium.
Key Selection Criteria
- At least three years of experience in supporting staff to achieve positive outcomes in homelessness services or related fields desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting people in crisis who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness and ability to integrate a trauma informed approach, with a strong focus on health and housing outcomes with evidenced ability to provide holistic responses to address complex needs.
- Evidenced ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, crisis-driven environment including conflict management, safety planning and financial management.
- Ability to demonstrate culturally sensitive practice in relation to family violence, inclusive of the needs of LGBTIQ+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse peoples.
- Ability to work collaboratively and constructively within teams of leadership, peers, staff, and other stakeholders, as well as displays initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
