Little bit about the role 

The Team Leader (Level 6) leads a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality services in alignment with VincentCare's strategic goals. This role is responsible for operational oversight, performance management, continuous improvement, risk management, and service excellence within a designated service stream or program.

The Team Leader exercises a high level of autonomy and initiative and holds significant responsibility for decision-making, stakeholder management, and the professional development of staff. The position requires the application of advanced specialist knowledge and professional judgement in complex environments.

The Inner Melbourne Community Hub Case Management team comprises Senior Key Workers and Key Workers (Case Management Team) who work closely with homeless and marginalised adults. The team leader has demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, alongside an ability to support, guide and mentor senior and other key workers in their client work. The team leader will lead a muliti faceted team at Ozanam House supporting clients in crisis accommodation and in the community. This role incorporates the responsibility for additional data collection and reporting related to service delivery, leading reflective practice, staff supervision and at times holding a reduced caseload. 

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant Bachelor qualification in Social Work, Community Services or related field, or equivalent substantial experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in homelessness and/or community services.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing service delivery and operations.
  • Strong skills in staff supervision, coaching and performance management.
  • Sound knowledge of compliance, risk management and accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting vulnerable clients with complex needs.
  • Ability to manage programs, resources, conflict and critical incidents.
  • Commitment to social justice, human rights and culturally responsive practice.
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.
