The Liverpool Bakery is our largest site in APAC, employing over 300 team members and comprising four manufacturing areas, including fresh bun bakery, frozen bakery products, cakes and desserts.
The Role:
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site General Manager to join ARYZTA and lead our Liverpool industrial bakery, driving operational excellence and growing the success of our manufacturing site.
Reporting directly to the ANZ Managing Director, the Senior Site General Manager will oversee all site operations, ensuring manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and financial performance. The Senior Site General Manager will play a pivotal role in developing a strong team culture and maintaining a customer-first approach.
As a key member of the ANZ Senior Leadership Team (SLT), in this role you will make an impact in shaping the business strategies, ensure compliance, and leading key initiatives that align with our company mission, vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Oversee budget management, P&L accountability, and financial performance, ensuring the site's long-term sustainability.
- Champion continuous improvement, driving best practices and innovation in manufacturing operations.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, food safety, environmental, and legal regulations. Manage capital expenditure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and growth.
- Ensure strong communication across all levels, creating a collaborative and transparent work environment.
- Provide strong leadership and foster open communication across all levels of the plant, ensuring seamless collaboration and proactively addressing any production, sanitation, safety, engineering, or quality challenges.
- Key point of contact for major customers and drive a customer-centric culture, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Represent ARYZTA at industry events and engage with external partners.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, food safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Implement and enforce best practices in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Background, Experience & Skills Profile:

- Proven senior leadership experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or bakery operations.
- A track record of delivering significant business outcomes, including P&L responsibility.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality assurance and safety programs.
- Exceptional financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including union negotiations.
- The ability to lead diverse teams and build strong internal and external relationships.
- A hands-on leadership approach—someone who leads by example, inspires teams, and drives positive change.
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to communicate with influence, negotiate and mediate conflict.
- High energy, resilience, and a commitment to operational excellence.
- Availability for domestic and international travel as required.
