About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for developing a scalable, strategic people plan for the business and for creating and implementing the tools and systems to execute that plan.   You will be a member of the Spicers executive leadership team and be integral in driving future growth of the business. 

As Group HR Manager you will provide operational HR support to a team of 300 employees across 12 business units. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement HR initiatives and strategies that align with the overall business strategy
  • Support current and future business needs through the on-boarding, development, engagement, motivation and retention of team members
  • In consultation with the leadership team, maintain remuneration and benefits programs
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process
  • Assess training needs, implement and maintain training programs
  • Management of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Building a positive company culture and promoting the brand as an Employer of Choice through communications and marketing activity
  • Provide commercial advice in line with Spicers policy and problem resolution for ER issues

The successful applicant will be both strategic and hands-on with a broad HR background.  To be successful in this role, you will be an outstanding communicator with the ability to influence and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will possess sound judgement, have strong business acumen and good analytical skills.   You adopt a positive approach and are solution focused.  You'll hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and/or Organisational Development.  Applicants with hospitality experience will be viewed favourably. 

Given the location of our properties, regular interstate travel will form part of this role.
