About the Opportunity

Spicers Retreats has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Head Office team, based in Fortitude Valley.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for meeting room night and revenue sales targets through the development and growth of new business, as well as retention of existing business with key clients across the MICE, corporate and leisure markets for Spicers Retreats. 

More specifically, your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Strategically nurture and maintain existing relationships to maximise repeat business from a portfolio of PCO and corporate accounts.
  • Research and identify new areas of business within the MICE and corporate markets on behalf of all Spicers Retreats.
  • Source new corporate transient business prospects, drive loyalty to maximise annual production room night figures for Spicers Retreats.
  • Generate new MICE leads by cold calling, telemarketing, attending networking and trade events.
  • Strategically nurture and maintain existing relationships with key Wedding Planners to maximise wedding business for all Spicers Retreats.
  • Develop a detailed sales activity calendar highlighting an annual sales call plan outlining regional sales activity, famils, trade and networking events.
  • Update and maintain accurate records in company CRM including account and lead details, sales opportunities, sales activity reports and company notes.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly Sales team meetings.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports outlining all activity.
  • Keep abreast of market & competitor activity and trends and communicate results to internal teams. 

The successful applicant will be a proven Business Development Manager with extensive experience in a similar role within the Hospitality Industry. You'll be abreast of market trends and competitor activity so that you can make sure that client needs are accommodated for and sales targets are met.

An outstanding communicator who is professionally presented, you will be able to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders with ease, influence and authority. You'll work closely with key clients, so it's imperative that you are able to maintain positive relationships and a comprehensive level of product knowledge across each of the properties within Spicers Retreats.
