About the role
The Bloomfield Group is seeking a Farm Hand to assist in carrying out day to day farming activities at Bloomfield's haymaking and farming operation.
The successful candidate will provide assistance in the Group's haymaking and beef cattle production unit and other farming activities required on Bloomfield properties including biodiversity areas.
- Farm Hand required for an established quality hay and beef cattle enterprise
- Picturesque property located in the beautiful Hunter Valley (near Singleton) NSW
- Full time, permanent role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of irrigated Lucerne and various pasture mixes for hay / silage, including both the in-crop and fallow periods
- Assist in baling of hay / silage (Lucerne and other)
- Assist in the irrigating Lucerne and other pastures using side roll and soft hose big gun travelling irrigators
- Operate and undertake general maintenance of farm equipment
- Where required, assist in Bloomfield’s beef cattle grazing enterprise
- Perform general farm duties as required
- Assist in maintaining Bloomfield properties to a high standard
- Assist in record keeping to monitor resource usage such as water, fuels and farm chemicals
- Fulfil the role of the Farm Manager as required in the absence of the Farm Manager
- Undertake land management tasks as required at Bloomfield owned properties including biodiversity sites
Essential Criteria
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in irrigated hay and beef cattle production
- An solid understanding of irrigation techniques, pest management, and farm machinery
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Desirable Criteria
- Class MR/HR Licence
- ChemCert AQF 3 Accreditation
