SHORT-TERM PLANNING ENGINEER
The Bloomfield Group is seeking a motivated and technically driven Short‑Term Planning Engineer to join our Technical Services team at Rix’s Creek. This is an opportunity to work hands‑on in mine planning, design, and production support within a collaborative, safety‑focused environment.

About the Role
As a Short‑Term Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in developing production plans, designing operational sequences, and ensuring the smooth delivery of mine plans across Bloomfield Group sites. The role is suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic operational setting and is looking to deepen their technical mine‑planning capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop short‑ and medium‑term mine production plans, including dig sequences, equipment locations, dump designs, and haul road layouts.
- Prepare and quality‑check operational designs to ensure accuracy and alignment with long‑term plans.
- Coordinate daily and weekly planning activities, including running planning meetings and ensuring alignment between plans, labour, and equipment.
- Monitor operational constraints - such as in‑pit water levels - and adjust plans or provide recommendations as required.
- Deliver production reporting (daily, weekly, annual) and actively improve production data capture and management.
- Collaborate across departments to gather and report statistics and contribute to the annual open‑cut budget.
About You
You are a motivated Mining Engineer with 3–5 years’ experience in mine planning and a strong understanding of operational production environments. You are confident using planning and design software, have strong analytical and reporting skills, and communicate effectively with both technical and operational teams. You take ownership of your work, uphold high safety standards, and bring a proactive, collaborative approach to delivering accurate plans and supporting daily production outcomes.
Please note this is a site‑based role working Monday to Friday. The role will primarily be based at Singleton, with travel required across our Hunter Valley operations. A vehicle option is included in the package.
