MINING ENGINEER
We are seeking a motivated Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services team at Rix’s Creek. This role will focus on drill and blast activities, while also supporting and developing capability in mine planning and production scheduling.

Working across operations, you will play a key role in optimising blast performance, improving production outcomes, and contributing to safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations.
- Develop and implement drilling, initiation and blast designs in a technically complex environment
- Analyse drilling, loading and blast data to optimise performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Conduct post-blast assessments including fragmentation, diggability and wall performance
- Coordinate and schedule drill and blast activities in line with production requirements
- Provide technical advice on blast performance, cost impacts and risk mitigation
- Develop and communicate short- and medium-term production plans
- Design and schedule mining activities including dig sequences, haul roads and dump plans
- Ensure quality control of production statistics in Pulse
- Provide production reports on daily, weekly, yearly and as needed basis
- Support planning processes including weekly meetings and production reporting
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in production, data capture and reporting
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance and technical teams to deliver safe and efficient outcomes
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or similar)
- Experience in drill & blast and/or mine planning (ideally 3–5 years)
- Experience with mining and/or blast design software (e.g. ShotPlus, Vulcan, Spry)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic operational environment
