The Opportunity
With the growth of our services comes the opportunity for Disability Support Workers to join our Home & Living team in the Bega Valley Region. While each day in the role brings variety and new challenges, you will be a highly motivated and reliable individual supporting people with disability through a person-centred approach to ensure quality of life, dignity, respect and inclusion.
Your role responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personal care to participants in their home and in the community
- Preparing and assisting with meal preparation
- Administering medication and offering mobility assistance
- Supporting attendance at appointments and community-based events
- Engaging in skill building activities, both individually and in a group setting
- Offering meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their personal goals
- Working shifts across a 24/7 roster which includes morning, afternoon, evenings and overnights
What do I need to succeed in the role?
- Confidence to engage with a diverse range of people
- Genuine desire to provide care for people with disability
- An understanding of privacy and confidentiality and how to treat sensitive information appropriately
- Ability to connect with participants and team members to ensure a sense of value and respect
- Availability to work over a 24-hour rotating roster in alignment with our service offerings
- Experience in Mental Health will be highly considered, however is not required
To be successful in the role, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC), and evidence of at least two (2) doses of a COVID-19 vaccination before commencing. While a current First Aid Certificate is preferred, we can support you in obtaining and maintaining a valid certification throughout your career.
