Disability Support Worker

The opportunity:

We are seeking professional, positive and ambitious Disability Support Workers who are particularly passionate about working in our industry to continue this success. Offering both casual and permanent part time positions, this role will see you supporting participants in Lake Macquarie and Central Coast both their homes and in the community.

Your commitment to delivering person-centred support that is valued by people with disability and their families is essential to this role. You will be part of a dynamic team that provides supports to our participants through dignity, respect and social inclusion. This is achieved through supported active decision making, inclusive practice, as well as building and maintaining community connections.

Our accommodation services provide 24/7 care in all aspects of personal care, daily life tasks, mealtime assistance and medication management. Successful candidates will need to be willing to work a variety of shift times including morning, afternoon, overnights and weekends.

  • Demonstrated empathy and awareness of disability.
  • Confidence using technical platforms to complete shift notes, incident reporting, and electronic timesheets.
  • Creativity to promote and support activities. 
  • Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

If successful, you will be required to provide evidence of at least two (2) doses of a COVID-19 vaccination before commencement. A current First Aid Certificate is preferred; however, we can support you to obtain and maintain a valid certification throughout the life of your career.

Training commences 13 May 2024 over a 2 week period. Full availability is required during this period to ensure you are set up for success. 

For this position, the casual hourly rate is between $40.26 - $43.93 (inclusive of casual loading) and the part-time hourly rate is between $32.21 - $35.14, to be negotiated based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
