About the role:
Our "Next Step” program is tailored for school leavers who are eager to build skills and prepare for the workforce. We assist participants to gain essential skills, qualifications, experience, and independence to reach their career and personal goals in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
We are seeking a Youth Employment Support Worker on a permanent part time basis. Working between our Fairy Meadow and Shellharbour offices, the successful candidate will join a team who are dedicated to helping school leavers set goals and implement strategies to become "job-ready."
Aligned with the responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker, the successful candidate will support the Next Step Facilitator with both group and one-on-one sessions for 24 hours per week on a Permanent Part time basis.
The successful candidate will be dedicated, enthusiastic, inclusive and customer focused. The role is responsible for supporting the Next Step Facilitator as well as:
- Leading small group sessions and implementing individual learning strategies.
- Support participants to engage in a diverse range of skill building activities to help reach their goals.
- Work with the Facilitator to coordinate work experience, training and employment opportunities aligned with participant goals.
- Maintain accurate records and provide information for reporting purposes.
- Collaborating with participants, families/carers and colleagues.
- Working closely with other team members to ensure high-quality service provisions.
What we are looking for:
- Proficiency in Person-Centred Planning to identify personalised employment pathways & support participants in building job-ready skills.
- Ability to provide classroom support and assist with lesson preparation.
- Work closely with participants to address their learning and development needs.
- Skills in building and sustaining relationships and networks within the community.
- Ability to serve as a key creative resource for our participants by developing and presenting fresh content and ideas on a weekly basis.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and employees.
