Disability Support Worker

At The Disability Trust, we are committed to providing exceptional support to individuals with disabilities. We seek to empower our clients to live fulfilling lives by offering a range of tailored services and support systems.

We are currently hiring part-time and casual Disability Support Workers to work in our Residential Services across our South-East Sydney (Miranda, Barden Ridge, Caringbah, Gymea, Peakhurst). 

We are seeking those who have availability at sometimes short notice, to work a variety of shifts over a 24/7 roster working across early mornings, afternoons, nights and sleepovers included. 

We have the following shifts available to offer on a rotating basis: 

Tuesday: 6am - 2pm, 6am - 11am
Wednesday: 6am - 2pm, 3pm - 8pm
Thursday: 6am - 9:30am, 3pm - 9am (10pm - 6am sleepover component)
Friday: 6am - 9:30am, 8am - 1pm

 

About the role:

We are looking for passionate and highly motivated Disability Support Workers to add value to our team. You do not have to have experience to apply, we welcome applications if you possess drive and passion to work in a rewarding industry. You will assist people with a range of daily living tasks to meet the individual needs and goals of our participants. This involves:

  • Delivering personal care including showering, toileting, and dressing
  • Preparing and assisting with meal preparation and eating
  • Administering medication and offering mobility assistance
  • Supporting participants with attendance at appointments and community-based events
  • Offering meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals

About you:

  • Genuine desire to provide person-centred care for people with disability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven computer skills
  • Initiative and drive to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Flexible availability, especially for the shift times listed above.
  • Ideally, you will bring a wealth of knowledge and/or experience in a similar role
  • Have or a willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Check, and Working with Children Check 
  • Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
