At The Disability Trust, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive community in the Snowy Monaro. We have a range of rewarding part time and casual opportunities for highly motivated individuals to work as Disability Support Workers in our Home & Living and Individualised Supports Services.

About the Role:

Our Home & Living services operate 24/7 offering a range of shifts in the morning, afternoon and night. Ideal for those who are seeking flexible hours in exchange for flexibility in availability. Some of our shift times include 8am to 10am, 6pm to 8pm and sleepover shifts on weekdays and weekend nights starting from 5:30pm to 8:30am.

Our Individualised Supports include supporting participants in a range of activities in their own home and in the community. In home supports are typically scheduled at set hours each day, ideal for applicants who may be studying or undertaking caring responsibilities.

As a service operating 7 days a week we have a variety of shift times available through the week but are particularly keen to welcome staff with availability for shifts that include 8am to 10am, 6pm to 8pm and sleepover shifts on weekdays and weekend nights starting from 5:30pm to 8:30am.

Whilst each day brings new challenges, the general responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in skill building activities, both individually and in a group setting.
  • Offering person-centred support to enable participants to achieve their goals.
  • Supporting attendance at appointments and community-based events.
  • Preparing and assisting with meal preparation.
  • Delivering personal care to participants (showering, toileting, dressing etc).
  • Administering medication.
  • Manual Handling using a hoist and mobility assistance.

What you Need:

  • A genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with disability.
  • Drive to work collaboratively with participants and your team.
  • Creativity to promote and support community contribution.
  • A current Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Demonstrated awareness of disability.
  • Availability to work over a 24-hour rotating roster in alignment with our service offerings.
  • Cleared NDISWC and WWCC (we can assist you with obtaining this!).
  • Evidence of at least two Covid-19 vaccinations.
