Illawarra Vocational Services (IVS) provides meaningful employment for people with disability by offering a range of garden maintenance and packaging services in the local Illawarra area. Our IVS Team are seeking a skilled IVS Supervisor to provide guidance and direction to our supported employees in completing contracted assignments efficiently and safely.
The IVS Supervisor plays a vital role in helping supported employees achieve their vocational goals from skill development to gaining employment in the open market. This full-time position is a perfect opportunity in maintaining work-life balance, working 7:15am to 2:45pm across various sites in our Illawarra region.
As the IVS Supervisor, you will:
- Plan and allocate tasks based on crew members’ skills, goals, and needs.
- Lead and support crews to complete jobs safely and to a high standard.
- Provide extra supervision when crew members are learning new tasks or trade skills.
- Promote a positive public image by modelling respectful behaviour and customer service.
- Help crew members maintain professionalism in dress, language, and conduct.
- Set and manage daily work schedules to keep jobs on track.
- Check and maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure safety and readiness.
- Assist with loading and locating gear for each job.
- Complete daily reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
- Follow all safety and company policies and report hazards or incidents promptly.
About you:
- Experience in landscaping, land care or grounds maintenance in residential or commercial settings.
- Ideally, demonstrated awareness and/or experience with disability.
- Understanding of basic maintenance of tools and machinery.
- Hands-on approach to task completion in a team environment – you will be working alongside supported employees to complete jobs.
- Experience in meeting safety obligations and reporting requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining safety and welfare of crew members.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to community clients.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work according to deadlines.
- Clear and concise communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
If successful for the role, you will be required to provide a valid and cleared Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Check and valid Australian Driver Licence prior to commencement alongside evidence of at least two (2) doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
