Our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care offers affordable, high-quality accommodation and care to people aged 50 years and over.  We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.

 

Your new role

We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join the team at our Shepparton Hostel as a Care Manager on a Full-Time basis. Your fortnightly roster will be as follows:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1506)

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1506)

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Overseeing the personal care and nursing functions within the Aged Care Home.
  • Ensuring that quality care is provided to all residents and that duty of care is met
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of detailed personal care plans, assessments and programs as required
  • Providing quality services in a manner which maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses, other health care providers and the pharmacist to facilitate optimum health care and clinical practice for the residents
  • Ensure that residents are encouraged to maintain their independence, and provide an environment that encourages residents to maintain lifestyles of their choice.
  • Ensure that Quality of Care and Accreditation Standards are met and championed.

 

 

What we will need from you:

  • Enrolled Endorsed Nurse
  • Current AHRPA Registration (mandatory)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people
  • Experience in gerontology / community / palliative / mental health / alcohol and drugs or related specialty
  • Knowledge and skills to perform personal care and clinical tasks
  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Prior experience in homelessness, aged care, welfare, disability, allied health or community care is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly and non-judgmental attitude

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.

Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2024 Influenza Immunisation vaccination before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
