Your new role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our residential team at our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care on a Casual Basis. Bring your passion for well-being to our close-knit community, fostering a warm and supportive environment for our residents.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care. Enjoy a flexible fortnightly roster, shaped by meaningful opportunities to step in and support the team when they need you most.
Your responsibilities and duties will include the below:
- Assisting residents with personal care, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
- Undertaking medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
- Assisting in formal assessment processes and contribute to individual plans of care
- Liaising with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
- Providing complex care, such as wound management and palliative care
- Assisting the RN1 with clinical requirements of residents
- Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
- Observing and reporting changes in residents’ behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
- Attending appointments with residents as required
- Providing emotional support to residents.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Cert IV/Diploma of Nursing (with current AHPRA Registration) - Mandatory
- Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
