Your new role
Wintringham is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Food Services Attendant to join our Food Services Team on a Casual basis. This role will undertake a range of general kitchen duties such as meal distribution to our residential homes, food preparation, plating and service of food, ensuring that meals are nutritious and well presented. Your fortnightly roster will be determined by ad hoc opportunities to provide relief to the team.
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Ensure meal distribution to all services is accurate and timely.
- Assists the Food Services Team to ensure to that the food services program complies with the food safety act.
- Assist Chefs in the preparation, cooking, serving, cross checking and packing of the meals for delivery.
- Undertake general kitchen duties that include cleaning, dishwashing and plating of meals.
- Ensure all meals produced are of a good visual and nutritional standard in quantities appropriate with resident’s needs.
- Ensure all special diets are correct in content.
- Assist in the development, review and maintenance of standard recipes for each menu item.

We are looking for candidates with the following:
- A current Food Handlers certificate preferred or a willingness to undertake Food Safety Training.
- Prior Food Services experience in Aged or Community Care (highly advantageous)
- Good understanding of Food Safety Requirements
- Ability to work within a team as well as autonomously
- Adaptability to changes in the environment.
