The opportunity….
We are currently seeking a "hands on" Operations Manager to join our Reverse Logistics division in St Albans.
As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for actively promoting and upholding the company values while overseeing, managing and improving all operational activities. This includes but is not limited to, the Pick and Pack function, Despatch, Receiving and Special Projects. As part of the management team, you will play a crucial role in managing OH&S and enforcing policies in a professional, timely and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities;
- Ensure that all Customer Operations and Services are delivered to the required quality levels and schedule requirements
- Ensure all Customer Operations & Services are delivery in a cost effective and efficient manner
- Drive and implement continuous improvement processes
- Coordination of high volume pallet movements and container movements
- Actively drive and manage all health and safety elements of operations to ensure they comply with/or exceed all legislative and OHS requirements
- Ensure that all employees are being managed in an appropriate manner to deliver maximum productivity, whilst maintaining a high level of morale and minimising staff turnover
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and inductions of new employees
- Oversee and manage special client projects including Quality Control
- Adhoc tasks as requested by Manager
To be a successful candidate, you will possess;
- Proven experience in a medium sized production and logistics environment (3-5 years minimum)
- Exceptional understanding of 3PL with the continuous strive to improve that knowledge and keep up to date
- Demonstrable leadership ability to manage teams of employees to ensure production targets are met
- Ability to generate reports, adhere to budgets and liaise with all levels of employees
- Ability to execute on a daily plan and feedback issues into planning/ budgeting process
- General knowledge on Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and OHS compliance
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong technical skills, with the aptitude to learn new systems and internal WMS
- Ability to work autonomously with the passion and drive to achieve results
