About T-Ports

T-Ports operates two vessels, MV Lucky Eyre and MV April, in Lucky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, and Wallaroo on the Yorke peninsula South Australia. T-Ports represents a paradigm change in world Port and supply chain development using cutting edge transhipment technology. T-Ports is an emerging company, leading the way with grain receival, bulk handling, storage, and transhipping, “bringing the port to the product”. About the role

Reporting to the Master and the Maintenance Manager, the Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the main, auxiliary and cargo handling machinery onboard the vessel. Ensuring that the vessel is always operational.

  • Ensure safe and reliable use of vessel equipment
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance duties via computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS, MEX)
  • Perform all tasks instructed by the Master & Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain and man engine room watchkeeping
  • Ensure all technical equipment is in proper working condition
  • Assist in all transfer operations, including bunkers, sewage, and potable water transfers
  • Maintain official logbooks and registers
  • Maintain sufficient spare stock on board for operating requirement such as engine oil, gear box oil and hydraulic fluid.
  • Broad experience and skills will be required for problem solving

About You

This is a diverse role that will require “a can-do attitude”, who is prepared to take on a vast selection of duties while working Independently and part of the team. Ranging from Preventative Maintenance to breakdown repairs. Excellent verbal and written skills will be required.

  • Engineer Class 3 (NC) CoC or higher - Essential
  • Certificate of Safety Training- Essential
  • Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness - Essential
  • Must have Australian work rights – Essential
  • Strong problem solving, analysis and assessment skills – Essential
  • Experience in the use of onboard planned maintenance systems – Essential
  • Restricted Electrical License – Advantageous
  • Trade background - Advantageous
  • Previous experience in a transshipping or bulk handling plant- Highly regarded
