About the role

Reporting to the Chief Officer the GPH is responsible for assisting in the daily operation and maintenance of the Vessel.

• Operate the Material Handling System (MHS)
• Casual Position
• Perform planned maintenance duties using Maintenance systems (PMS) (MEX)
• Comply with Work, Health, and Safety procedures
• Perform all tasks instructed by the Chief Officer and Master
• Prepare and clean Vessel for Grain Inspection and periodical inspections
• General deck hand duties

About You

This is a diverse role that will require an all-rounder, with “a can-do attitude”, who is prepared to take on a vast selection of duties. Ranging from Preventative Maintenance to routine inspections. Excellent verbal and written skills will be required. Previous deck hand experience will be required. 

• Master less than 24m OR Master less than 35m- Essential
• Certificate of Safety Training- Essential
• Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness - Essential
• Must have Australian work rights - Essential
• Previous experience in a similar Agri-business or bulk handling plant- Advantageous
