T-Ports specialises in bulk handling, storage and transshipping of grain using cutting-edge facilities and equipment. T-Ports operates two transshipment Ports, one at Lucky Bay (Eyre Peninsula) and Wallaroo (Yorke Peninsula). As well as the two transshipment Ports, T-Ports operates up-country grain storage sites at Lock and Kimba and a transshipment vessel “Lucky Eyre” that discharges grain into ocean-going vessels at sea. About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Officer, the General Purpose Hand (GPH) plays a vital role in supporting the daily operation and maintenance of our vessel. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating the Material Handling System (MHS) both on deck and in the control room
- Performing planned maintenance duties via the Planned Maintenance System (PMS – MEX)
- Complying with all work health and safety procedures
- Completing tasks as instructed by the Chief Officer and Master
- Preparing and cleaning the vessel for grain and periodic inspections
- Undertaking general deckhand duties as required
About You
We are seeking enthusiastic team members who value respect, collaboration between business units and safety in everything they do. A versatile GPH who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys a variety of responsibilities—from routine maintenance to inspections. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Essential Requirements:
- Master <24m and Master <35m certificate of competency
- Certificate of Safety Training (CoST)
- Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness
- Australian work rights
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar agri-business or bulk handling plant
