Maintenance Technician – Mechanical Trade

About T-Ports:

T-Ports specialises in bulk handling, storage and transhipping of grain using state of the art facilities and equipment. T-Ports operates two transhipment ports at Lucky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula and Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula.  As well as the two transhipment ports, T-Ports operates up-country grain storage sites and a transhipment vessel that discharges grain into ocean-going vessels at sea. About the role:

We are seeking a permanent full-time qualified Mechanical Trade to join the maintenance team based at Lucky Bay. This role will see you responsible for a broad range of mechanical servicing, maintenance, installations and upgrades of fixed and mobile plant and equipment, including marine maintenance and trouble shooting.

Key responsibilities include:

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance tasks including:

  • Reporting to the Asset & Maintenance Planner EP
  • Ensuring all machinery works at optimum performance
  • Trouble shooting faults and findings
  • Ongoing maintenance of bulk handling assets, mobile plant, marine equipment, including breakdowns.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of drive system components, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, conveyor systems, combustion engines and general mechanical repairs.
  • Using CMMS system MEX for Record keeping and job orders.
  • Strong focus to work safety
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently manage workloads

 

About You:

Our ideal candidate will hold a relevant trade certificate. You will have proven fault-finding ability, a proactive mindset and a strong focus on safety. You’ll be Computer literate, self-motivated, reliable and possess strong time management and communication skills. The ability to work at heights and within confined spaces is required.

  • One or more of the following trades -Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter (experience in fixed & Mobile plant equipment preferred).   
  • C Class Driver’s License
  • Working at Heights and Confined Spaces tickets or willing to obtain
  • Experience with Microsoft office suit, particularly word and excel
  • Dogging & Rigging Tickets or willing to obtain
  • Previous Agri-business or bulk handling plant – Advantageous
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP or MEX - Advantageous
