About T-Ports

T-Ports specialises in bulk handling, storage and transhipping of grain using cutting-edge state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. T-Ports operates two transhipment ports, one at Lucky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula and one at Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula.  As well as the two transshipment Ports, T-Ports operates up-country grain storage sites at Lock and Kimba and a transhipment vessel “MV Lucky Eyre” that discharges grain into ocean-going vessels at sea. About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this hands-on position will undertake the planning, coordination, supervision, and management of all day-to-day operational tasks and personnel to ensure the efficient, compliant, and safe handling of grain within the T-Ports site at Lock, South Australia.

  • Permanent full-time role
  • Managing the planning, coordination, and supervision of the day-to-day operational tasks for bunker site.
  • Ensure synergies with hygiene, inspections, documentation, quality, labour, and safety are consistent across the business
  • Managing a small team of ongoing employees and casual harvest employees.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with the planning and execution of fumigation and accumulation plans, to coincide with grain / non-grain exports/imports
  • Assist the Quality and Compliance Manager with grain quality and quantity to ensure it remains in good order as per client and T-Port’s specifications
  • Managing rosters to ensure operational efficiency and resources are balanced and site hygiene is kept to a high standard
  • Provide training and guidance to site operators to ensure they are appropriately skilled with grain receivals classification, quality parameters and operational tasks
  • Undertake all duties in accordance with relevant work health and safety requirements and in accordance with T-Ports Work Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Ensure heavy vehicle operations at T‑Ports sites comply with Health and Safety policies, Chain of Responsibility, and Heavy Vehicle National Law for all internal and external parties
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound computer skills, including MS Office
  • Travel between T-Ports sites will be required at times
  • Assist Site Supervisors at other T-Ports sites during peak periods
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the grower community
  • Foster and strengthen relationships across internal and external client groups.

 

Qualification and Experience requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within Agriculture, Food Manufacturing, Material Handling, or a similar industry is essential.
  • A current C-Class Driver's License
  • Cert IV in Frontline Management or Equivalent - Advantage
  • Front End Loader Ticket - Essential or willing to obtain
