Administrative Officer - Inclusive and Creative Communities

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrative Officer to join the passionate and dedicated team in a permanent full-time position in our Inclusive and Creative Communities Unit which includes the Community Wellbeing, Tweed Regional Museum, Tweed Regional Gallery, and Cemeteries teams. If successful, your work will contribute to supporting the Tweed's people and places to thrive. 

About the role:

  • supports the team on projects and programs, grant applications and acquittals
  • makes day-to-day decisions in relation to a range of admin and operations matters and non-technical issues
  • provides secretariat support to advisory and management committees

  • relevant qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • high-level administrative, communication and liaison skills

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

Essential:

  1. Relevant TAFE certificate, tertiary studies or equivalent industry experience.
  2. High level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, email, internet and desktop publishing.
  3. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal communication skills to effectively work in a positive team environment, provide information to the community and use discretion with confidential information.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively unsupervised and as part of a collaborative team.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to effectively balance competing and often changing priorities to meet deadlines.
  6. Demonstrated high-level problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
  7. Demonstrated experience in minute taking and secretariat support.
  8. Current Vehicle Licence – Car.

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge and experience in Technology One (Finance) application system software.
  2. Knowledge and experience in CiAnywhere, Council’s Record Management system.
  3. Knowledge and experience with grant applications and acquittals.
