Senior Technical Officer - Systems

Tweed Shire Council are seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Systems to provide specialist technical advice and direction on water and wastewater infrastructure system performance. In this role you will provide support to Engineers, Supervisors and Technical staff in their design and operational decision making.

About the role:

  • Undertake detailed field and desktop investigations of pump and pipeline systems and prepare reports and recommendations on water and wastewater system performance improvements. 
  • Undertake audits and detailed investigations to confirm the configuration and to characterise the performance and condition of Council's water supply and wastewater distribution and reticulation systems.
  • Work closely with the Engineer - Networks in providing key information and data inputs to develop and maintain water and sewer hydraulic models which are used for both strategic planning and assessing operational performance.

We are seeking:

  • Relevant Science or Water Industry Diploma or relevant Trade Certificate (IV) / Tafe qualification combined with substantial technical experience in the areas of water and or wastewater reticulation.
  • Knowledge of water supply and wastewater infrastructure conveyancing and reticulation systems.
  • High level oral and written communication skills, particularly in the ability to effectively communicate highly technical information to water industry practitioners, stakeholders and members of the public.

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
