Technical Officer - Water Supply and Quality

The Water and Wastewater - Operations Unit provides high-quality and reliable water supply and wastewater services to the Tweed Community.

As Technical Officer - Water Supply and Quality, you will ensure our Drinking Water Management System is implemented and continuously improved within the network area. 

About the role:

  • inspect, maintain, test, operate, and report on drinking water network assets with a high focus on drinking water quality and risk management
  • provide technical support and advice on network water quality to customers, supervisors, engineers and management
  • ensure storage reservoirs are regularly and thoroughly inspected to minimise the chance of contamination 
  • work closely with the Senior Engineer for reporting, development and implementation of water quality improvements.

We are seeking:

  • minimum Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or demonstrated competency in the relevant units of competency and willingness to undertake certification
  • experience and knowledge of water quality and water asset maintenance
  • knowledge of Work, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
