Plumbers Assistant

Assist in reducing infiltration into the Council's sewer system by identifying illegal connections, conducting inspections, performing smoke and dye testing, and supporting repairs. This role requires basic knowledge of sanitary plumbing and sewer reticulation. Additional tasks may include general labour on water and wastewater maintenance activities.

About the role:

  • Assist in carrying out inspections, minor plumbing, and labouring work on both public and private sewers.
  • Assist in routine tasks on water and wastewater network assets.
  • Additional tasks will be carried out as required under the direction of the Plumber Infiltration.

We are seeking:

  • General knowledge of sanitary domestic plumbing.
  • General knowledge of the operation of a sewer and water reticulation network system.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Willingness to undertake manual labour.

This position is based in Chinderah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
