About the Role
We’re seeking expressions of interest for a pivotal position overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of one or more of Council’s Wastewater Treatment Facilities. This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to guide a skilled team, optimise plant performance, and contribute technical expertise to drive continuous improvement. Reporting to the Supervisor Wastewater – Treatment Plants and liaising with the Engineer Wastewater Treatment, you’ll ensure high-quality effluent output, supervise staff to maintain operational excellence, and participate in the Water Unit’s on-call roster.

We are seeking:
- Certificate III in Wastewater or Water Treatment or equivalent.
- Sound technical knowledge of wastewater treatment plant process, with the ability to implement changes.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the capacity to guide a small team towards operational performance.
- Good communication ability, including the capability to work effectively with engineering staff.
- A current driver’s licence and the ability to participate in a 24-hour on-call roster, residing within 30 minutes of Banora Point, Murwillumbah, or Kingscliff treatment plants.
Where it's located:
This position in based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
