This role provides support to the Building and Environmental Health Unit by assisting with public enquiries, providing advice on Council application processes, and checking submitted applications and plans for compliance with lodgement requirements.
About the role:
- Assist staff with pre-lodgement checks of various applications and the provision of advice to customers concerning applications and processes.
- Undertake development and planning administration, including counter and telephone enquiries on building, environmental health, and planning matters.
- Interact with other staff members, external stakeholders, and members of the public to respond to enquiries.

We are seeking:
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage complaints and resolve conflicts.
- Knowledge of the development process in a local government context.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
