About the role:

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality aquatic programs, including learn to swim, coaching, and aqua aerobics, across Council’s aquatic facilities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and roster aquatic program staff to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Engage with the community, including class participants, parents, schools, and groups, to ensure programs meet evolving needs and expectations.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance and promotional activities to achieve community participation and financial targets.
  • Support operational continuity by participating in an on-call roster and assisting with various duties as required by the Supervisor Aquatic Facilities.

We are seeking:

  • Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, fitness, or Swimming Australia coaching, with experience in developing and evaluating aquatic programs in a similar facility environment.
  • Proven expertise in delivering aquatic programs such as learn to swim, coaching, and aqua aerobics within community aquatic centres.
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills, with a track record of achieving organisational goals through effective team management.
  • Excellent administrative and technical skills, including report writing, cost management, and use of spreadsheets and point of sale systems.
  • Current certifications including Pool Lifeguard, First Aid (HLTAID001 & HLTAID003), and a valid NSW Working with Children Check.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
