About the role:
Support the development and management of Council-controlled parks, sporting facilities, and community spaces. You’ll assist with policy creation, development assessments, community consultations, and project management. Work alongside community groups, government organisations, and internal teams to manage open spaces and develop future plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing developments and applications
- Coordinating community engagement
- Writing reports with recommendations
- Assisting in the development of guidelines and strategies
- Managing grant applications and reporting

We are seeking:
- Certificate IV in a relevant technical area (e.g. urban planning, land management, sports management).
- Proven experience in a high-level technical or professional support role with strong report writing and grant submission skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including customer service and dispute resolution.
- Competence in government Record Management Systems (ECM), property systems (Tech 1 Property and Rating), and Microsoft Office, with GIS knowledge.
- Ability to work in a team, undertake on-the-job training, and read development plans for compliance.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
