We’re looking for a skilled and self-motivated Civil Engineering Drafter to deliver high-quality drafting services from concept through to construction. In this key role, you'll manage multiple projects with minimal supervision, supporting all divisions of Council while ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
You’ll bring technical expertise, sound judgment, and strong communication skills to collaborate across teams and deliver accurate, well-documented design plans using Council’s Record Management System.

About the role:
- Deliver high-quality civil engineering drafting services from concept design through to detailed construction plans.
- Manage multiple drafting projects independently, with minimal input from engineers or supervisors.
- Collaborate across all Council divisions, providing accurate information and technical support.
- Ensure all drafting complies with relevant policies, standards, and guidelines, using sound technical judgment.
- Utilise Council’s Record Management System for proper document registration and management.

We are seeking:
- A qualified individual with a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent) and relevant drafting experience.
- Solid knowledge of engineering design principles across roadworks, drainage, water/sewer infrastructure, and structural detailing.
- Proficiency in computer-aided drafting (preferably AutoCAD) and the ability to manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously.
- A practical understanding of construction methods and relevant Australian Standards and design guidelines.
- Strong communication, organisation, time management skills, and a current car licence.

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
