Join Our Payroll Team – Finance Officer (Full-Time, Maximum-Term)
We’re excited to offer a maximum-term full-time opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our dedicated payroll team. This team plays a vital role in ensuring our staff are paid accurately and on time every week and provides support with interpreting Award provisions and responding to staff enquiries.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working collaboratively, and has experience using contemporary HR/Payroll software. If you're detail-oriented and passionate about delivering great service, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role:
- supports Payroll Officer with the preparation of the weekly payrun
- responsible for special projects and assignments, including adhoc reporting
- requires interpretation and implementation of Local Government Award provisions, Council Policy requirements and relevant legislation demands
- responsible for user set-up/security and the purchasing and inventory modules in our corporate financial system, council uses Finance One.

We are seeking:
- experience in delivery of a medium-to-large volume, weekly payroll containing variety of employment arrangements, council uses iChris and Timefiler
- experience in records management system, council uses Technology One
- eye for detail, high level of accuracy
- ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels, and provide accurate interpretation of the Local Government Award
- previous experience in our software is desirable, but full training in our software and procedures will be provided.

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
